Hello Folks,
Tonight is the night for Open Spin, the night when the JP Hops House turns in to the LP Hops House. I can't believe we've gone through so many great sides since we've started. Even if the crowd is sometimes thin, it's a great time had by all. Rather than put up the list of songs we've played since November, I've decided to share some highlights from some of the past spins in a "Top Ten" style list.
#10: Randy S plays "Introducing The Beatles" on the Vee Jay label. *drool*
#9: Dodd remarks how much the "101 Strings" LP sounds like "Victory at Sea". Chris then pulls "Victory at Sea" out of his magic box of vinyl.
#8: Rusty gives away boxes of LPs and forces Mike to go home with boxes of show tunes.
#7: Sweet Honey in the Rock. Nuff said, Google it.
#6: Yes has still been played more than any other artist.
#5: Divine Pizza delivers late.
#4: Even local artists get their albums played! Shake Russell, Joe LoCascio, Z-ROCKS, Rancho BeeBop.
#3: We get to hear more styles, artists and decades of music than an iPod stuck on shuffle.
#2: Jennifer get's a signed LP for her first Open Spin! Pretty cool even if it was just signed by all of the regulars there that night.
#1: Vinyl still sounds better than CD in the opinion of 90% of the attendees. The other 10% drank too much Brewhouse Brown and declared that we need an 8-Track night.
So now that you've had a look into a night of Open Spin, how can you stay away?!? Hope to see ya'll tonight at 8:00!
